Stalking Horse Press is seeking stylish literary fiction and nonfiction for publication in 2027 and 2028.
For general full-length submissions, we are open to manuscripts between 40-90k words including high quality genre works in science fiction, horror, and crime, but not including high fantasy.
We'd like to read exceptional memoirs and critical work also.
We do not publish YA, romantasy, splatter, or exploitation fiction, but others do, so good luck if that's your field.

Stalking Horse Press is seeking outstanding full-length poetry collections for publication in 2027 and 2028. For consideration the collection should be a minimum of 48 pages.
If the collection contains poems that have been published previously in magazines or online, please indicate in your submission description (it isn't necessary to list every instance, just a sampling).

PonyXS is a new imprint of Stalking Horse Press created specifically for shorter and 'misfit' works of literary fiction and nonfiction between 20-40k words. This might be a fantastic novella that needs a home, or a themed collection of short stories.
Genre is not an issue, except for our usual caveat that we don't publish high fantasy, romantasy, splatter/exploitation titles or YA.
PonyXS will print in a slightly smaller format from regular Stalking Horse Press titles and will feature a distinctive thematic cover design and a volume number. Submissions permitting, PonyXS will publish 4-6 manuscripts per year beginning in 2027.
